Works-Installations
These works focus on giving audiences agency in manipulating their experience of sound, exploring the transformation of sound into multisensory experiences.
These works examines how we willingly surrender agency to algorithmic systems, starting with social media but extending into our AI dominated world. The installation Feeling Control reveals this dynamic: I've created the music, programmed the visual responses, and designed every parameter of interaction, while an autonomous mathematical system generates patterns regardless of user input. Participants feel they're in control because the experience is designed to be fun, immersive, and engaging. This is the point being made, we don't lose agency through force but through pleasure. Instagram doesn't chain us to our phones, it just makes scrolling feel better than looking away. My installations replicate this seduction deliberately, the visuals are mesmerizing, the controllers satisfying to hold, the entire experience designed to be enjoyed even as it demonstrates your lack of control. I invite you inside the very systems we are critiquing. You can have fun while recognizing you're performing within my parameters, just as you enjoy social media while knowing Meta built the playground to sell you ads. By making the loss of agency pleasurable rather than painful, I show how control isn't taken from us. It handed over, one interaction at a time.
